PROMOTING STUDENT INTEREST IN PLANT BIOLOGY THROUGH AN INQUIRY-BASED MODULE EXPLORING PLANT CIRCADIAN RHYTHM, GENE EXPRESSION, AND DEFENSE AGAINST INSECTS

Promoting student interest in plant biology through an inquiry-based module exploring plant circadian rhythm, gene expression, and defense against insects

ABSTRACTWe present a weeklong curricular module for high school biology students that promotes knowledge of phytohormones, the circadian clock, and the Central Dogma. The module, which relies on easily accessible items and requires minimal space, integrates a hands-on experiment that guides students through replicating research examining circadian e

Nonperiodic Oscillation With Wavelength of Mode Guided in a Special Ti-Diffused $hbox{LiNbO}_{3}$ Waveguide Structure

We report an abnormal waveguiding phenomenon that the fundamental mode guided in strip waveguides of a special Ti-diffused LiNbO3 sophie allport zebra waveguide structure, in which an array of 4and 6-μm-wide strip waveguides is embedded in a planar waveguide, nonperiodically oscillates with the wavelength along the waveguide width direction.

Role of the Group B antigen of Streptococcus agalactiae: a peptidoglycan-anchored polysaccharide involved in cell wall biogenesis.

Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B streptococcus, GBS) is a leading cause of infections in neonates and an emerging pathogen in adults. The Lancefield Group B carbohydrate (GBC) is a peptidoglycan-anchored antigen that defines this species as a Group B Streptococcus.Despite earlier swish supreme glide track white immunological and biochemical charact
